Sludge in oil?

So I bought a used 2017 Acura. My dream car for the longest. Found it at a decent price with “107k”miles. Two years later I bought an engine scanner for other cars. Three days ago I hooked it up to my Acura and noticed mileage information was different than “engine” mileage. 140k for car, 256k for engine
It took me by surprise. I’ve been doing regular oil changes and tire rotation religiously. Lately I had a valve cover oil leak. Bought the valve cover gasket that needed to be replaced and took the valve cover off. There was sludge built up on the inside of the cover and around the camshafts. I feel I’ve been shafted by the dealer
My dilema, how bad can it really be and what are the options?
Any help or advice will help
Thank you
